Did you know that…

The very first construction of the winery belongs to the XVIII century and now, with a renewed premises it continues making wines the same way but with the experience of pairing the right balance between the winemaking process of yesterday and today.

Vineyard

The climate of the property is Mediterranean-Continental, it is, a transition between the most humid Mediterranean and the Continental of the inland Castilian plain. Summers are hot and dry while winters cold but the humidity typical of the Mediterranean with a mean temperature of 14ºC. Pluviometric regime is above 400 mm per year and mean height is 650 metres above sea level. Ground is frank sandy, with gravel, little depth and scarce fertility. Such characteristics allow to produce grapes with very particular characteristics.

The main variety in the property is the Monastrell which is present in five different parcels both goblet and quarante pruning. Age range is between 25 and 60 years old. Respect to the varieties of white grape we count on a parcel of Macabeo.

Making and Ageing

First stage consists in introducing harvest crates in a cold room in order to low the temperature of the grapes up to 0ºC for 24 hours.

Next comes stalking and a soft crushing. After the stalking cold maceration takes place in order to boost the fruity aromas. The most is fermented under controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks with the aim of boosting the variety and fermentative aromas.

After the fermentation the wine stays with part of its lees in concrete tanks in order to gain smoothness and volume in mouth.

Cata

	Clean aromas, such as floral and fruity, highlight at the white wine Vinya Alfori.
	In mouth is powerful but fresh, very well balanced and with a pleasant smoothness.
