Detailed description

Murviedro, 'Muri Veteres', old walls which hugh the old Village and were old witnesses of the journey of an old soul which loiters still today throughout caves and wine cellars, caring for our vintages while they make old and evolve slowly and quietly.

Making Area

Protected Place Name 'Utiel Requena'. Continental climate with Mediterranean influences. Wide day-and-night temperature variations. Mean temperature : 13 ºC. Clay-Chalky grounds.

Winemaking

Exclusively made from selected grapes which come from old vines with low production. This red wine shows the potential of quality of the Bobal variety, Utiel-Requena native grape. Stalking and soft crushing of the grape, followed by a long maceration under controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation. Ageing in barrels of american oak wood during twelve months and then a minimum stage of twelve months in bottle.

Tasting

A cherry-red-colour red wine with a tile hint thanks to its ripening in barrel.

Aromas of a great aromatic complexity with pleasant notes of red fruits (raspberries, blackcurrant,…) on a toasted and balsamic background (cocoa, minty, toffee).

In mouth is thick and velvet, with round tannins and a long end.

Murviedro Colección Bobal Roble pairs meat, bush meat and cheese.

It is recommended open the bottle 60 minutes before service.
